A Bright Christmas Evening
Christmas was celebrated at SPbCU at the end of the examination session, as most of students will then leave to celebrate with their families and friends in different cities and countries. That is why on December 18th, earlier than anyone, we had the chance to congratulate each other with gifts and attention
Together in a tight circle of students, faculty, staff, and family we met in the assembly hall of SPbCU where the tables were already set and decorated. Along with delicious treats and an interesting program, the unforgettable couple hours flew by. There was festive greeting from the rector and administration of SPbCU, which was followed by student choir which presented their holiday program of Christian hymns.
We even enjoyed some performances by the SPbCU staff.
A unique and memorable part was the play produced by a group of current and alumni students of SPbCU. Yet another time, through simple, but vital, skits, we are reminded of the most important part of the holiday: the birth of the baby, King, Savior - Jesus Christ. The touching and lively performance deserved the most warm-hearted applause.
The evening continued with the loud and entertaining game of "White Elephant", which assumed the distribution of free gifts. Both adults and kids unwrapped gifts impatiently as they chose them from under the Christmas tree. Some gifts were even fervently chased after, as the game implied the chance that a gift can rotate from one person to another.
Time which was devoted for the celebration ended quickly and no one wanted to leave.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
