My name is Alena Chukina. I was born in the capital of Karelia (Petrozavodsk city) and I am 17 years
old.
I came to God at the age 7. During the Sunday Children's Lesson in the church our teacher asked if anyone wanted to give his heart to God and in that moment I realized that God is my Savior and Father and I really want to be his daughter.
Now this prayer seems to be quite childish but in that very moment I was extremely serious and of course it was useful to understand the meaning of my decision in spite of the fact that I was a little girl.
Some time later at the age of 11-13 I had problems in the family: my parents had just divorced and in the church since I always felt lonely there because there were no my peers and it was tiring for me to listen to these long and dull sermons of our pastor.
And that period of time was difficult not only for me but even more stressful for my mother as she wanted her child be a faithful God's servant and she herself was dispirited after the divorce.
But only thanks to her strong faith and prayers I realized that I want to be as kind, patient, sympathetic as she. She was and is a really good example for me and now I am very thankful to her even for being strict with me.
I needed such attitude. Maybe if she didn't behave like that I wouldn't be with Christ now. And I prayed this prayer again and was baptized in 2005 and I hope that I will be with Him during all my future life.
And now I am studying in the SPbCU, determined to serve God and let Him be glorified in my life.
