Greetings to St. Petersburg from Ghana

Along with the guests from Wycliffe translators, alumni of SPbCU were able to share about theirlives after university.

Elena Vinokurova, who studied at SPbCU as Elena Semenuk, finished SPbCU in 1995.
Her studies for Children's Ministry were interesting and substantial, but even then she could not imagine what her studies could turn into.

A calling, however, leads one everywhere. At the moment, Elena works in Africa, serving children and publishing children's books.

She learned a lot during her studies at SPbCU, including various creative techniques, which are extremely useful for her today.

With gratitude, Elena remembers her professors, which taught her in St. Petersburg. She understands that it was during those years that the Lord opened up to her.

Now, Elena and he husband are serving in Ghana. Their goal is to give the people of Avatime, of which there are 16,000 people, the Word of God in their mother tongue. Up to this point, they were collaborating the alphabet, dictionaries, and have already translated the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke.

Alexander Vinokurov, Elena's husband, continued the interview sharing the meaning of SPbCU in his life.

He studied in Bible school after which he finished the Bachelor's of Theology program at SPbCU in 1999. During the many years spent in St. Petersburg he was able to widen his sphere of friends and even his world-view. Alexander said that after SPbCU he began to perceive people differently.

Alexander especially highlights the substantial opportunities of SPbCU: pedagogical foundation; library, and academic level of the university. This is a certain standard which one needs to be ready for.

In closing, the guests wished the current and future students the desire to study, because whoever came here to study will learn something.
