"Bible Commentaries" is a popular, modern voicing of the Old Testament combined with an attempt to explore the culture of the Semitic people of the Bible times. How Biblical imagery, metaphors, and customs come into existence, how the genre is shaped along with the unique Biblical language, what a Judaic congregation may have looked like, and what the ethnic, religious, literature and cultural ties - are all themes that area discussed on "Biblical Commentaries".
This serious composition, portrayed in a lively language, is the result of many years of work and church activities of the Palestinian orthodox priest father Pavel Tarazi, Professor St. Vladimirskiy Seminary in New York. The Biblical story is incomprehensible without the penetration into the Biblical culture, into Semitic soil, the holder of three world religions. This is the land into which the Savior came.
The edition in English of "Biblical Commentaries" will soon appear in the Russian edition of "Hermeneutics".
