On Friday, the 19th of October, 2007, the students, graduates, teachers and administration of SPbCU took part in a celebration of the 17th anniversary of the foundation of SPbCU. There were more than 70 people present.  SPbCU is a big family, although, unfortunately, only a part of this family had an opportunity to be together.  Graduates, former teachers and members of the staff have been never forgotten; all of them are members of this big family too.

As for the holiday, since the 17 anniversary is not a round date, it was decided not to organize big celebration but just to drink tea with cake and to communicate with each other, to get acquainted with new students. (The time of this celebration coincided with the on-campus exams for the correspondence program, so there were many new students present.)

In the beginning of the celebration, Alexander Ivanovich Negrov, who is the rector of the university, greeted and congratulated everyone on this day and prayed a thankful prayer for the university. After that there was a tea.  Also there were several games organized by Maxime Chepel to help to communicate not only with people near you but to get acquainted with others. Thanks to these games, many people had a chance to get to know each other. So the family of SPbCU became more friendly and united. The evening was filled with joy and a special thankfulness to God, who gave this chance to the university to exist during all this time and is leading it now.
