Conference at the St. Petersburg Institute of Jewish Studies

On December 22, 2011, the St. Petersburg Institute of Jewish Studies held a conference on Judaica, Hebraic and Oriental studies. It was attended by about 60 people, representatives from various educational institutions in St. Petersburg. The conference is planned to be published.

Professors of SPbCU, Valeriy Alikin, Maria V. Karjakin and Tatyana Nikolskaya, were invited to the conference.

T. K. Nikolskaya presented a report on "The Jews in Russian Protestantism," which aroused interest and questions from the audience.

For our professors, this was not the first time to take part in academic events organized by the St. Petersburg Institute of Jewish Studies. In the mentioned book to be published are article by V.A. Alikin of his speeches at the previous conferences.
