Open Lecture at SPbCU
Valeriy Alakin presented his dissertation on the topic of "Worship of first Christians of the Greco-Roman Culture".
The presentation was held at the end of the semester at SPbCU when the faculty had the opportunity to listen to their colleague.
The fundamental theses of the work were:
1. A new approach to the study of early Christian worship
2. The gathering of Christian and the Greco-Roman banquet:
• Feasts of the Gentiles
• The comparison of Christian supper and gentile feasts
• Evidence from Christian authors
• The content of Christian worship
3. The Christian's interpretation of their own worship services
At the end of the presentation, there was an opportunity for open discussion.
