SPbCU Participates in EAAA conference of “Theological Education 2009”
President of St. Petersburg Christian University, Alexander Ivanovich Negrov, director of Public Relations, Ivan Ivanovich Makerenko, and executor of the academic Dean, Alexander Anatolyevich Belyaev took part in the united meeting of EAAA, "Theological Education 2009" in Minsk, Belorussia, from the 9th to the 14th of November 2009.
This conference was dedicated to the issues of spiritual development of both the student community in the universities and the community of faculty and staff.
Throughout the conference, internal issues about the life of the Association were held. Voting was held and reports were heard, but most of the attention was drawn to discussion the spiritual foundation of theological education. It was an attempt to comprehend the way which institutional members of EAAA take and to see the perspective which the One opens, the One who now only rules the Universe, but also the lives of every community. 
Representatives of SPbCU were able to hold many important discussions and meetings, planning perspective prospects for the progress of the University and made many interesting contacts.
Alexander Ivanovich Negrov also presented a report on the topic of "Jesus - the Teacher of Spirituality". It was focused on the theme of "spirituality". Alexander Ivanovich highlighted Jesus and his personal spirituality in different aspects: "Jesus - the Teacher of Spirituality" in the canonical Gospels, from a hermeneutical perspective, and the pragmatic Theological perspective. Alexander Ivanovich attempted to receive interaction from the audience and called them to define "where does the influence on the reader lie?"
In conclusion, president of SPbCU highlighted that the "nucleus of the New Testament are fundamental in meaning and significance of Jesus' commandments "love the Lord" and "love your neighbor". According to him, "spiritual harmony of one is possible only by the means of voluntary submission to God according to Christ's teachings.
Discerning the love of God and the love of man is the highest step of mastering theological and moral truths in Christ's teachings".
The "evangelical theological institutions have to be sending points, where spirituality in Christ and in His teachings are actualized, become reality, and receive strength of spiritual event, a clear and healthy one for all humanity"- closed Alexander Ivanovich Negrov.
