Open Seminar held by the author of “Russian Protestantism and State Rule during 1905-1991”

On October 21st at 6:00 pm the author of the monograph "Russian Protestantism and State Rule during 1905-1991" was held in classroom #131.

The numerous guests who were present were practically able to witness the events of the book which Tatyana Nikolskaya described. The audience was pleasured not only to listen to the author speaking of the books contents, but was also able to ask her questions.

Answering questions, Tatyana Nikolskaya was able not only to reflect on the past, but also the future. In her opinion, Russian Protestantism (in particularly the understanding of "Russian Protestantism" as a distinctive occurrence) is not threatened by the things which the previous generation had lived through. We will encounter various problems, but the society, law and state will have to live with the historical occurrence of "Russian Protestantism".

The publishers of the book were also present and shared how the book has produced "commotion". It has already been purchased by various libraries, Christian and academic, in Russia and also abroad.

Tatyana Kirillovna Nikolskaya is candidate scholar of history, professor of SPbCU, and author of articles and works on the history of Church-state relationships in Russia in the 20th century.
