Representatives from "Light to the East" Mission visit SPbCU

During several days, members of the mission of "Light to the East" visited St. Petersburg Christian University.

Guests from Germany attended the chapel service, held a strategic meeting with the administration of SPbCU, and shared their experiences with the students. During the chapel service, alumnus of SPbCU Jacob Kroeker addressed the university. He shared with his future colleagues his experiences, observations and words which he had been contemplating on. The verse which has inspired him throughout his life is to "delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart" (Psalm 36:4).

Johannes Lange, pastor in Germany, a previous dean and professor of SPbCU, and director of "Light to the East", also spoke at chapel. His commission elaborated on the previous address. Quoting 1 Peter 5:5 to "clothe yourself with humility toward one another", he explained his interpretation of humbleness.

Fundamentally, humbleness is the acknowledgment of God's greatness, His will in our lives and reliance on Him. To be humble means to lay, or even "throw", all our worries on Him and let Him be praised through our lives. "If you listen to God, then that won't compare with anything, and if you will be where He wishes, then that will be the greatest joy for a Christian," was Johannes's wish to the students, faculty and staff.
