Bart Decrane – Pastor of the northern Calvary Chapel and a Talented Musician
On February 12th, 2010, SPbCU hosted yet another guest.
Bart Decrane is the pastor of the northern Calvary Chapel as well as a talented muscician. Bart was born and raised in Belgium. His parents were Christians and today are actively serving in church, which is why Bart believed in Christ from a very young age.
After school, he attended university where he studied languages, including Russian. It wasn't easy to study and he sometimes felt like giving up. Upon finishing university, Bart worked for "New Life" missions.
"New Life" organized a youth conference in St. Petersburg and Bart came to Russia for the first time in the team of organizors of the conference. Bart found brotherly and spiritual support at Calvary Chapel and after the conference, upon returning home to Belgium, he continued to want to return to Russia into the ministry of the same church. The pastor at the time needed an assistant, and Bart prayed about this in particular. Upon moving for ministry in St. Petersburg, Bart finds out that the pastor and his family is returning to the United States, and Bart soon became pastor.
Bart Decrane spoke of this to the students, faculty and staff of the university. He also shared his thoughts and observations. In his ministry, Bart understands that every day is important, and as an example, he spoke of the story in Zechariah 4:10. In ministry, it is important to have joy in the Lord, only then, our ministry and life will attain meaning.
Bart inspired the staff and students of the university to always look at Jesus and be in tight fellowship with Him, so that our life will be full of His presence and joy, so that we would life and serve by His strength (Zechariah 4:6).
After the chapel meeting, Decrane met with the staff of the Public Relations division and the Rector of the University.
