A letter from Elena Strebkova (Pavlova), a graduate

Dear brothers and sisters!

I'm so glad to receive a letter from you. I've changed my last name and address. I think that many letters from "past years" didn't reach me but this letter did. Glory to God!

There have been many changes in my life since I graduated from "Logos" 14 years ago. I took an one-year course in Children Pedagogics in 1993-1994 at the SPbCU.

Before entered the SPbCU, I'd studied at Biology Department of the St. Petersburg Pedagogical University. But after two years I left it and entered the SPbCU. Two years of studying at the Pedagogical University disappointed me and I didn't want to study at it again, but God had another plan. He overcame my obstinacy. And after graduating from the SPbCU, I came back at the Pedagogical University at the Correspondence Department. I studied there with a pleasure and an interest. My certificate of degree was spoiled only with my first years marks.

In 1996 I got married. In 1998 I graduated from the Pedagogical University and my first son Ruslan was born. My second son Nataniel wasborn in 2002. In consequence of my returning to the University it became possible for me to work at school in my native city. In the beginning I worked as a leader of a Bible study group and a handicraft group for small salary. But very soon I got an opportunity to work as a fulltime specialist. I worked at school for 10 years, but then I had to leave it because of job cut.

The Lord again took care of me miraculously: I didn't looked for a job, but a job found me. The kindergarten, which my son attended, began to seek for a child-minder urgently. They employed me because of my pedagogical education. But nevertheless it was difficult wok for me in the beginning - my university education and my former experience assumed work with secondary school pupils. Preschoolers require other methods. My notes and other materials kept from times of my studying at the SPbCU helped me to be adopted for the circumstances.

During first years after graduation I kept a correspondence with some of my former fellow students, but later the correspondence was broken. For the time being I don't communicate with any of my former fellow students. Some years ago I received an invitation on a graduates meeting behind time.

As time goes on, the desire to talk with my fellow students, especially with roommates and with those sisters who took part in practical training with me, becomes stronger. That's why I'll be happy to take part in the Graduates Association activity.
