Svetlana Valerievna Kirichenko - 2007 University Graduate

Svetlana Kirichenko studied Christian Pedogogy and graduated from SPbCU in 2007. Svetlana says that she has only good recollections about the time spent at SPbCU. Her favorite subjects were "Cults and Sects" and "Comparative Theology." She indicates that she has always been interested in the questions of comparison between various denominations, confessions and religious systems.

Her favorite teachers were Lubov Germanovna Karetnikova and Alexandra Alexandrovna Tarasenko because they both took part in her personal life. She also had good recollections about Fedor Nikolaevich Kozirev (pedagogics teacher) because he gave really good information on his subject. For Sveta, the role of spiritual teacher was played by Kent Eby. Sergey Tarasov, her group leader, played a big role in her development too. He was a good example of the person who has a deep relationship with God and wisdom in his life decisions.

Today Svetlana is continuing her studies by correspondence classes through Mass Media Technologies. In spite of the fact that this is absolutely another direction, not connected with pedagogy, the knowledge that she obtained at SPbCU has helped her a lot in her studies.

On the question as to where it is easier to study, Svetlana answered that in SPbCU it was easier because the spirit there is better. She says that she has used her knowledge and everything else that she got at SPbCU in different spheres of her life. Currently, Svetlana is not only studying but also working in SPbCU.

As during her undergraduate years at the university, Svetlana is a member of the church "New Life" (pastor Vitaly Keller) where she serves in Sunday school.

Svetlana is very thankful to God that she could have a chance to study in SPbCU because she really got a lot of necessary knowledge there.
